The Nice Jenkins: Charlottesville’s Indie Secret

Charlottesville, North Carolina indie band The Nice Jenkins may not have a catchy name, but they make some solid music as evidenced by their related release. While the name doesn’t do anything for them at all, and may hurt them actually, the brothers put out an album this year that is worth noting since they received almost no blog love or press.

Other solid songs on the album include “Needs”, “Ladies” and “When The Morning Comes”. You can pretty much skip the others, but what is strong on the record is good enough to make the cut as one of the underappreciated independent releases of 2008.
